• To support students' future math confidence and success, Niagara Wheatfield elementary schools have set common math fluency goals.  Math fluency, in this case, refers to automaticity of math facts or precursor math concepts in grades Pre-K through five.  This means that students are working to demonstrate that they have committed math facts and other precursor concepts to memory without the use of fingers or other aid.  Our common math fluency goals are charted below.  Studying math fluency concepts as part of routine homework in order to meet or exceed grade-level math fluency goals is recommended.
